Capella Pedregal and Auriga Spa at Capella Pedregal Hotel & Resort in Cabo San Lucas have earned spots on Condé Nast Traveler’s coveted 2010 Hot List. The distinctions are included in the Condé Nast Traveler´s (USA) 14th annual Hot List of the best new hotels, spas, restaurants and clubs in the world. The honorees are chosen by the editors of Condé Nast, who travel to the properties anonymously in the months leading up to the Hot List release. Capella Pedregal earned the highest possible three-flame distinction — classifying the resort as the hottest among the Hot Listers.
World Class Dining at Capella Pedregal
El Farallón is a Los Cabos restaurant tucked into the cliffs of Capella Pedregal that resembles a coastal seafood shop that has survived its share of storms. The restaurant is stocked daily with bounty from local fishermen. 'Farallon' in Spanish means ‘a rock that comes out of the ocean.' El Farallon is situated Cliffside over the Pacific Ocean, where the local catch rests on mounds of shaved ice. Beside it, an old fashion scale weighs each catch, and the selection of the day is handwritten with chalk onto a blackboard.
Various selections from the day's catch are displayed on ice in El Farallón's market-style fish display, or "La Panga," accompanied by local experts available to answer your questions and assist in your decision. After making your selection, your seafood is weighted and bagged and sent directly to the chef to be prepared on an open char grill. As your meal cooks, the grill spreads the charred aroma and the pungent flavor of freshly ground chilies.
El Farallón invites guests to gather with friends to enjoy Cabo San Lucas fine dining and savor pitchers of Sangria or Capella Margaritas in a casual atmosphere accentuated by the evening sunset above crashing ocean waves.
Don Manuel's, the Signature Restaurant at Capella Pedregal serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of Mexico's old world. The cuisine at Don Manuel's is accompanied by a design that will give you a sense of place in an authentic Mexican Hacienda. Guests are greeted by the restaurant's custom Mexican linens, unique hand painted china made in Guadalajara and granite tables. Don Manuel's cuisine is based on local, organic produce grown specifically for the restaurant and prepared using old world techniques in a modern setting.
A truly unique aspect of this Signature Restaurant at Capella Pedregal is its kitchen, "Su Cocina." In the same spirit of an authentic Mexican kitchen, the doors of "Su Cocina" are always open to Don Manuel's guests. From the hand painted tiles that decorate the vaulted ceiling to Chefs grinding the corn to make each tortilla, "Su Cocina" resembles a real Hacienda style kitchen in both design and atmosphere. In the morning "Su Cocina" is transformed into a breakfast buffet representative of a Mexican market.
The breakfast buffet features Mexican glass jars filled with freshly squeezed juices, breakfast pastries from the wood burning oven and a daily selection of specialties cooked to order. Around noon "Su Cocina" is used to teach the traditional techniques and heritage of Mexican cuisine, complete with offerings of tequila and wine. For dinner "Su Cocina" sets the stage as guests are invited into the kitchen for "Antojitos," or small plates, before beginning their meal. A favorite place to meet and enjoy a cocktail, guests often gather together in "Su Cocina" before sitting down for dinner. Guests can choose to experience Don Manuel's private dining room, a private booth, the patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean or a romantic dinner on the beach for two.
Auriga Spa
A recipient of prestigious 2010 Hot List Award by Conde Nast Traveler, the Auriga Spa and Fitness Centre are located in the heart of Capella Pedregal, a Cabo San Lucas spa resort. Their spa philosophy centers on natural and organic products for custom crafted treatments with relaxation and rejuvenation in mind.
