Wine & Dine
Wine lovers can rejoice because in Los Cabos there's an informal group just right for them.

The Cabo Wine Club is a fun and friendly way to meet local expats living and sipping in Los Cabos. And they’re happy to share their knowledge and insider tips with visitors. Dropping in at one of the club’s tasting events is a great way to hear from those in-the-know about the best vintages to try while visiting. Or maybe pick up a bottle to bring back home. Each month, the group gathers to taste eight to 10 different wines from Baja California Sur, as well as from around the world. Attendees learn about the grapes, the growing region, the vintner and which food it goes with best. The club also has a series called Wine and Dine, where wine lovers meet up at one of Cabo’s fantastic restaurants for wine pairings with dinner. By joining the club, you’ll receive the menu in advance and be invited to bring a favorite bottle to share. One-time guests are more than welcome. Everyone is seated at tables for eight, where they sample and discuss wine and food with others who share their passion. But the club doesn’t limit itself to wine. Tequila, the hottest sipping drink nowadays, is also included. At one recent event, visitors and club members enjoyed the expertise of tequila connoisseur Ricardo Gonzales from Tequilas y Tequilas Boutique in Cabo San Lucas, who spoke on the history and production process of Mexico’s fiery emblem. But, of course, the big event was the tasting. What could be more fun than discovering the innumerable flavors and characteristics of wine and tequila with other like-minded people? For more information, go to www.cabowineclub.com. Membership is not necessary to attend. Members receive discount prices for club events and certain wine and wine-related products.
Vinoteca, located in Cabo San Lucas, boasts an exclusive selection of fine wines, as well as vodka, tequila, cognac, whisky and other liquors. They host ongoing events and have a wine club for aficionados. For more information, call (624) 143-7795 or visit www.vinoteca.com or www.hazlaprueba.com.
