Whale watching is a must in Los Cabos between the months of January and March with a rare opportunity to observe them migrating south to the waters off Los Cabos. The whales' breeding grounds are primarily on the Pacific side, but some whales travel around the cape to the Sea of Cortez. Of the eleven species of whales found worldwide, eight venture to the waters off Los Cabos. Ideal climate, shallowness, salinity and abundant marine life make the bays and lagoons north of Los Cabos the perfect place for whales to birth and rear their young.

Sports - 2009 Cabo Half Marathon & 5K Run

Pick your distance. The Half Marathon (13.1 miles) is limited to the first 2000 participants, while the simultaneously held 5K (3.1) Fun Run is limited to 1000 runners. Race packets will be handed out and a pasta dinner served on January 24, from 6 pm to 9 pm at the Casa Dorado Hotel. Both runs start at 7 am. The entry fee is $45 for Half-Marathon; $25 for the 5K Fun Run.

St. James the Apostle is credited with bringing Catholicism to Mexico and is described as a magical man who rides a white horse. He is the patron Saint of Spain. The Day of the Dead, Día de Muertos, is a key festival in Cabo San Lucas and nationwide.
