Puerto Paraíso Helps Anchor Marina

Puerto Paraíso Mall has been the Cabo San Lucas marina centerpiece since opening its collective doors in 2002. Puerto Paraíso is equally beloved by locals and tourists alike. At the helm of the 140-store operation is Rubén Reachi, who has served as general director since January 2003. During his five years at Los Cabos' only mall, Reachi has witnessed a steady growth at Puerto Paraíso.

"In addition to our current offering of shops, restaurants, movie theatres and services, we have 10 new businesses that will be joining us soon," says Reachi. "We recently opened a new 2,000-square-meter business center, too. This facility houses professionals like attorneys, real estate brokers and developers, and construction firms, to name a few. We also now have a sports book company as a tenant, along with Luxury Avenue, a store featuring top brand-name luxury items."

Reachi, whose professional background is in administration and finance, spent more than a decade in the banking industry prior to assuming the general director post at Puerto Paraíso. While growing up, his parents were an important influence in his life. "I grew up in a nice home and received a good education, thanks to my parents," he says. "Now, my wife is the major influence in my life and a great support system. I also have two wonderful sons who inspire me to work hard and try to be a better person every day."

Reachi cited Ramón Marcos as another individual whose influence impacted his life. "Ramón is one of the most important pioneers in Mexico's real estate industry," says Reachi. "He has been in business for more than 50 years now." Ramón Marcos began developing and building Puerto Paraíso Mall in 1997, overseeing operation of the project until its opening several years later.

Reachi, who grew up in the central Mexican colonial city of San Luis Potosí, feels right at home in Los Cabos. "Our community is very supportive of Puerto Paraíso, and the tourism sector is extremely important to our continued success," he explains. "Our many visitors come from the cruise ships and timeshares, as well as traditional tourists. We work with the Los Cabos Hotel Association to provide the best shopping in town."

Rubén Reachi shares that the success of Puerto Paraíso is achieved through the collective successes of all its tenants. "If one business is successful, then we are all successful, and we try to provide the quality service to all of our guests."
